Brazil 6 - Portugal 2 is the worst result since Portugal lost to Sweden in 1958 for the same score. This from a team that just this summer made the quarter finals of the European championships.

At the risk of being redundant this team looks completely lost. The defense is a disaster, the midfielders lack creativity, the forwards are ineffective and the goalkeeper is playing to a different tune. This is a boat with no skipper, no motivator, no innovator.

The line up looks good on paper, but these guys are just doing what they can on their own. They go on dribbling safaris to nowhere, try shots with no angle, can’t cross a ball worth a damn and have no idea what to do after getting passed the half field line. Substitutions are just as ineffective.

With Queiroz at the helm, Portugal can’t win against average teams, much less against a team of Brazil’s class. What a clinic these Brazilian guys put on today. The famous “duel” between Káka and Ronaldo was one sided; Káka was obviously the most valuable of the two.

By the way Danny and Simão scored for those who care to keep track of what doesn’t matter.

We’re in trouble Portugal. Let’s rally beind Queiroz and see if he can pull a rabit out of a hat.
