Sete Cidades Cumeeira Grande Hiking and Pineapple plantation - Full day. Extension:8km/4.97 miles | Level:Easy| Duration:4 hours
Pick up at the hotel, tour starts with a drive by the south road with a picturesque view until Vista do Rei, the most famous viewpoint of Sete Cidades, in which you can see the Green and Blue Lake. Beginning of the hike that goes through the rim of the Caldeira of Sete Cidades, on your right side there will be Caldeira Seca (Dry Caldera), Sete Cidades parish and on the left side, view to the southwest coast of São Miguel and its small villages along the coast. Picnic at the end of the hike by the lake. To continue your pleasurable day, you will have the chance to kayak in the lakes or relax for about an hour. On the way back, short tour and visit to the Pineapple plantation and return to the hotel.

Hiking Lagoa do Fogo – Full day Extension: 12 Km/7.46 miles |Level: Medium |Duration:4h5 hours
Pick up at the hotel. This hike will show one of the most beautiful lakes in the island and all its surrounding area. This is a very complete hike that passes through a big variety of native and endemic vegetation. The lake occupies the bottom of a collapsed caldera, there will be a possibility for a quick swim before or after the picnic lunch. The beginning of the hike, on the way to the lake at 949 meters/ 3114 ft of altitude, goes mostly uphill for about 2hours. After lunch, the returning trail is mostly downhill and we must be more careful to avoid slipping. This hike is not recommended for people with knee or ankle problems. Return to the hotel.
Hike Faial da Terra - Salto do Prego - Full Day Extension: 6 Km/3.72 miles|Level: Medium|Duration: 3h30 Hours
Pick up at the hotel for a 1h15 drive till Faial da Terra, a small village belonging to Povoacao, located in the South East of Sao Miguel Island. The hike will start with a steep trail to a small isolated community called Sanguinho. The hike continues across dense vegetation giving the impression of walking through a rain forest until a beautiful waterfall where there will be a pause for picnic/lunch time. On the way back, the trail will take a different direction after a certain point, which goes along side Ribeira Faial da Terra. Drive thourgh Furnas, possibility to bath and relax at Poca da Dona Beija Thermal pools perfect after a hike. Temperature: 39C/102F; entrance fee not included. 6EUR per person, may change without previous notice. Return to the hotel around 5pm.

Tour to Furnas - Full day Duration: 7 Hours
Pick up at the hotel. This tour will be more of a walk than a hike to the unique parish called Furnas, place where the famous Cozido das Furnas ( meats and vegetables) is cooked underground also well known for its geysers and natural waters. Starting by the south coast towards Vila Franca do Campo, the first Capital of the island destroyed by an earthquake in 1522. Visit to the Chapel of our Lady of Peace, continuing to Furnas Lake where the cozido is made and what will be served as lunch (included) at a local restaurant later on. Visit to the Botanical Park Terra Nostra established in the 18th century, known for its thermal pool of natural hot spring water 40C/ 104F rich in iron, where you can have some time to swim. After lunch, walk around the geysers and Hot water springs. Start the return back to Ponta Delgada by stopping at Pico do Ferro that offers a magnificent view over Furnas Valley. Through this North coast of the island, visit to the Gorreana Tea Plantation. The last stop will at Miradouro Santa Iria offering a view over the North Coast, from where the Volcano of Sete Cidades and the highest point of the island Pico da Vara (1105 Meters/ 3625ft). Return to the hotel.
Rota da Agua - Janela do Inferno- Full day. Extension: 7.6 km |Level: Medium| Duration: 4 Hours
Pick up at the hotel. This is a circular trail, starting and ending near the Casa da Água - Trail Point, an old milk post transformed into a support facility for hikers. Taking the secondary road to Água de Pau, the hike will start by going an uphill road with views to Lagoa and Ponta Delgada. Crossed the water line, there's a first tunnel, walk along the Ribeira Seca stream to Janela do Inferno – a vertical wall, rich in water springs with a natural pond at its base where newts (Triturus cristatus) in different stages of their life cycle can be observed. Lunch/picnic will take place here. Return through the same trail but on opposite side, crossing a series of majestic aqueducts that used to supply the ancient Alcohol Factory of Lagoa and presently supplies water for the municipality. The last tunnel is located at the end of a wooded area, once used as an aqueduct, with a 50 m/164 miles length. Trail continues to a dirt road, passing by farming fields to casa da Água, in the center village Remedios. Return back to Ponta Delgada, passing by Caloura and it's fishing harbor, possibility to take a swim and experience a bit of the local life. Back to the hotel.
